01 How it works

Five steps from couch to keys.

One person handles your purchase from the first message to the handover. You talk to Lucky the whole way, by email, at your pace.

  1. Step 01

    Tell us the car

    Body style, a make and model if you have one, the features that matter and the budget you want to stay inside. A rough idea is enough to start.

  2. Step 02

    We find it

    Lucky searches dealer inventory for cars that fit and sends you the real options, with what you need to compare them.

  3. Step 03

    Value your trade

    Send the year, make, model, mileage and whether you still owe on it. The selling dealer's appraiser reviews it so you know where you stand.

  4. Step 04

    Shape the numbers

    Price, down payment and term, worked out together until the monthly payment makes sense to you. Lender approval is a separate step, and the lender decides it.

  5. Step 05

    Sign and hand over

    Paperwork is handled as remotely as the lender and dealer allow. Pick the car up at the selling dealership, or ask whether that dealer delivers to your area.

Lucky sells cars for a living and builds software at MADITECH. Car Dogs is his online-first way to buy a car: you deal with the person doing the work, and you skip the parts of a dealership visit that never needed you there.

How the sale works. Car Dogs is a virtual car-buying service, built and operated by MADITECH (Lucky Ranasinghe). It does not sell vehicles itself and has no inventory of its own. Every car is sold and titled by a licensed dealership, which also arranges any financing, and you sign the purchase with that dealer. Delivery, fees and return terms are set by the selling dealer.
